Hawaï Dénommée kenduaubu ou dikurugu, ce bel et ancien exemple de hache cérémonielle est formée de sa grande et fine pierre contrebalancée par une extrémité évasée en bois et magnifiquement liée au manche par un fin tressage de rotin. Les lames de hache en pierre de qualité supérieure étaient précieuses et pouvaient être échangées ou utilisées dans de nombreuses formes de paiement. Lorsqu'une grande pierre était façonnée et fixée sur une hache, elle était alors considérée comme un objet de richesse plutôt qu'un simple outil. Hawaii Known as kenduaubu or dikurugu, this fine and old example of a ceremonial axe is formed by its large, thin stone counterbalanced by a flared wooden end and beautifully bound to the handle by a fine rattan weave. High quality stone axe blades were valuable and could be traded or used in many forms of payment.
